Pretty much everyone knows; sewing is my passion since many years now, and it is my forté in cosplay! I took 2 years of basic sewing classes and I improved a lot since then! I love seeing people getting into sewing through cosplay, however, there are some mistakes that can be avoided, and there are ways to improve easily the quality of your cosplays! So why not sharing some cosplay tips with you all! First things first; Avoid using Hot Glue, or any glue for sewing Most of new/beginner cosplayers will do the mistake to use glue for ''sewing'' It can seems like an easy and fast solution for making cosplays, but believe me, you'll realize it isnt such a good idea; It can make the fabric looks odd, it can destroys your cosplay easily and doesn't look that good. A sewing machine is always the best! But don't feel bad if you do or did use hot glue for your first cosplays, pretty much everyone did it, even myself, but once you discover how sewing make your cosplays look better and stronger, hot glue will never replace your sewing machine anymore! Something Important; Z I G Z A G S You probably saw how much I'm being annoying to Zally about Zig Zags on instagram, but they're really important! If you have a fraying fabric such like cotton, if you do zig zags on the edges of the fabric it's gonna stop it from fraying! It will also prevent from your pieces of fabrics to to tear apart! (Important if you make tight clothes) Im being annoying a lot with those zig zags, but I swear; They can save your cosplays Ironing; Good for pleats and many things! Something I didn't know in my first years of cosplay; ironing your fabrics can be really helpful! If you make something like a pleated skirt; pin the fabric, then iron; your pleats will stay beautiful! It's also useful when you do lining! When you turn the fabric back to the right side; it can look weird until you iron it and make the fabric look flat again! It can be useful for many things! But warning! All fabrics react differently to ironing! Some can't be directly ironed on; you can put a piece of cotton on it and then iron! Make sure that your fabric reacts well to it and try on a small leftover or piece of the fabric! Note; I personally think cotton/polyester is the best fabric for ironing! And vinyl or leather types of fabrics can't be ironed! Round edges/lining? Triangles is the solution! You make a lining or edges that are round, and it looks weird when you turn it back to the right side? Cut small triangles on the edges! It will help! Make sure you're not too close to the sewing stitches when cutting! But not too far either! My sewing stitches aren't straight, they look messy; what do I do?! Many cosplayers struggle to make their sewing stitches look straight enough, they sew too close or too far from the edges. It looks complicated isn't? Well you know what? It's actually really easy to make them look straight, cause all sewing machines have something to help about that! Look at your sewing machine, to the right and left of the foot, you'll see some lines with measurements, they're actually there to guide you to sew straight! Use these to make sure you sew straight! You can also use the foot itself as a guide! For sewing zig zags, use the middle of the the foot as guide! Things to know about sewing machines; There's many things you NEED to know about sewing machines so you won't have too much problems with it! 1- There's different types of needles for different types of fabrics; if you notice that your needle doesn't sew your fabric correctly, you might need another kind of needle (Example; don't use a cotton needle for leather fabrics) 2- You must oil and wash the inside of your sewing machine often! If you want it to make sure it sews well for a long time you must take care of it! 3- The tension is also really important when you sew, usually between 3-5 is good for most of the fabrics, but for really thick fabrics its better between 0-2, and light fabrics 6-9 4- You know that hand wheel on the right of the machine? That controls your needle? Always turn it towars you! Never in the other way except if really needed! It can make problems to your machine! 5- There are differents foot that can be helpful for sewing specific stuff (Such as Zipper Foot), don't be afraid to try them out and to check out what they're used for on internet or in your machine's instructions manual! Pins, pins everywhere! Pinning your pieces of fabrics together will help you keeping them together while sewing! Don't forget to remove them while sewing, so your needle doesn't break! For leather and vinyl, it's better to use some wonder clips, because the pins can make some small visible holes in them! How to draw patterns?! Patterns can be really, REALLY useful if you want to make sure your cosplay fits perfectly. If your character has a special outfit, with a special design, take the pattern that looks the closer to what they wear, trace the pattern with some tracing paper and modify it like you want/need! You can also use some of your everyday clothes, put it on a table or on the floor, put tracing paper on it and use it as your pattern! ' Want to do some brodery? If your character's outfit has some small lines, and you want to make it look like some brodery, it's possible to do it with most of the sewing machines! Select the larger zig zag stitch, and set the length around 0,2: it will make it look like brodery! It can takes a long time to sew and can takes a lot of thread, but it can also be worth it! My character has a weird pattern on their outfit, I'm thinking about painting it Paint is not always the best solution, but sometimes characters designs leave no other choice, you need to paint it. But do not use any paint, because most of them will crack on the fabric. There are some specific paints for fabrics, and they usually work really well! I personally used the Setacolor fabric paint, it worked perfectly! Most of those paint recommends to be ironed after, I think it does make the paint look better when ironed but careful; don't iron it directly on the paint, put the fabric on the other side or put another piece of fabric on it! I hope these tips will help you! If I ever think about more I'll add them here! Let me know if this have been helpful!

It's been a while isn't! I totally forgot about my website!
So here's a cosplay summary of 2017! I went to a lot of cons, Nadeshicon, Montreal Comiccon, Otakuthon, Quebec Comiccon and Mini-Comiccon, and I have done few new cosplays! I think I improved a lot this year and I'm really happy about it! All my cons were really amazing, did amazing new friends and had beautiful moments! All my new cosplays were; -Hatsune Miku V3 -Remake Len Kagamine Bluemoon -Radical Star Len Kagamine -Original Meiko -Hajime Hinata -Megurine Luka Just be Friends -Rin Kagamine Luvoratoryyyyy And few costests and cosplay I improved! For 2018; I'm challenging myself by making a cosplay of Len Kagamine's Bad Boy module! This is so far my hardest cosplay! I'll also remake Radical Star, because I wasn't satisfied of it! And I have a secret cosplay i'm making slowly! If time and money lets me do another project I may add few other cosplays to my plans! But so far that's it! EDIT: Cosplay plans changed! This post is old!
Hey guys! I've been a lot inactive! Im so sorry! Even if I was inactive online, I've been active a lot in real life! I did 2 new cosplays, went to 3 conventions, chose my 2017 cosplays, started my own youtube channel and started a new cosplay! So yea, idk where to start tbh XD I started being a huge fan of Danganronpa, and I felt like I was obliged to do a cosplay from that serie XD I didn't have enough money to buy a lot of fabric, so with the leftovers I had I did a Enoshima Junko Cosplay! I'm so happpyyy of that cosplay! When my cosplay is done, I wore it for the Quebec Comiccon and the Geekfest! It was calm like cons but fun! After these, I re-did my Bluemoon Len cosplay and bought stuff for a Christmas Miku cosplay! I went to the Mini-Comiccon! It was sooo much fun for the last 2016 convention! So thats all! For the next day I'll work on my last 2016 cosplay, but im not talking about it ;) Thats gonna be a surprise! -------------------------------------------------------- About youtube! I cleaned my channel and started doing Vocaloid Covers! Go check it out if you want, I take requests! School is in one week, and I'm really bored, so I had the idea to tell you my ''cosplay story''! The beginning at today, all the progress, anecdotes, skills and more that I got through the years! So if you're interested, you can keep reading here! Enjoy! :) Everything started in 2013 summer, I was a HUGE minecraft fan! And I was planning to get a collection of different things from the game, and one of my goals was to get the gold sword and gold pickaxe; I was looking for them on ebay, and as you can see on the picture, it's written ''Con Exclusive''. This got my attention. They were ''San Diego Comiccon Exclusive'' items. At this time, I only heard about the Minecon, a convention only about Minecraft, but when I read ''Comiccon'', this got stuck in my head. I directly went on youtube to see what that con was, and believe it or not, I still remember what was the the first cosplay video I watched, and here it is: Comic Con (San Diego) - SDCC - Cosplay Music Video 2013 My first thoughts were: ''Well it looks like the Minecon but more for superheroes, but still looks really fun! I wish we had one like that in my area!'' I thought that, but, maybe we had one! I didn't know! So I went on google and said: ''Well pretty sure they don't have something that fun he-'', and suddenly got surprised to see that they actually have a Comiccon in my area! I took the phone all excited and called my dad to talk about it, as I remember, that was 37 days before the con! So my dad accepted to come with me and that I invite two of my friends! But I had ONE condition, a condition that always been REALLY IMPORTANT to me; I have to go as a character! I didnt want to go there without any cosplay! At this moment, I started to become a Pokemon fan, and I decided to do a little, cheap and simple Pikachu cosplay! I ordered my first yellow cosplay wig and Pikachu accessories on ebay! For the clothes, I went at Aubainerie and Ardene! The day of the con finally arrived, I put on my first cosplay ever, a bit of makeup (Well only the red cheeks) and left home to attend the con! I only went there the Saturday, but it was way enough to make me fall in love with cosplaying! Before leaving home, I told myself that was just a one time thing, I didn't think being a fan of cosplay, but at the first cosplay I saw in the streets of Montreal, I had a feeling, a feeling that cosplay was gonna be my new passion, and I told myself; ''Well, f*ck off, I know myself way too much, that's gonna be my new passion!''. I was impressed by all the cosplays and the place! And the dealers room blew me away! I never saw something that big, with that much things that I love! Everyone loved my little Pikachu cosplay and was so nice with me! I left the con feeling extremely happy and satisfied of my day! I knew that wasn't gonna be my last convention! But I wanted more awesome big cosplays! For sure, I didn't how to sewing, but I didn't really care at this moment, I just wanted to dress up as my favourite characters! For my birthday (1 October), I had a Link (Twilight Princess) cosplay! I wore it the first time when we had a Nintendo event for a Zelda game at Montreal. My cosplay was realllyyy far to be finished, and I still regret to have wore it that day, like that... =.='' I kept buying and making little cosplays with already made clothes, that I was only cutting and trying to make it looks like the most as possible to the character. I never thought about making my own cosplays to be honest, I thought I wasn't enough skilled to even try! But in December 2013, I saw a post about an amazing cosplayer, Element Cosplay, that was looking for cosplayers that wanted to do a cosplay group of Zelda; A Link between worlds! I was really fan of her cosplays already and I really wanted to participate, but two things was scaring me: the convention was kinda far and I didn't find any cosplay to sell of that game on internet! So the first thought I had: ''Well, I'm gonna make it!'' My dad accepted to attend the con with me, even if it was far, but the real problem was the cosplay, how was I supposed to make it? I had no experience at all, no sewing machine, no fabric, I was broke! But at least, when i first talked about having a sewing machine, my family was really happy to learn that I was interested by sewing, so they all bought me a great sewing machine! But I had only one month to make the entire cosplay! I went to Fabricville and I found at least 3 meters of purple fabric for 8$! That was perfect! When I came back home, I started working on it! I remember, how hard it was for me at this moment to understand how to sew! I had to learn all by myself, I remember screaming, crying and become insane 'cause of that cosplay haha! But at the end, I finished it and I was really proud! I attended the con, and everyone liked my cosplay, I even almost cried 'cause I was really happy that the people enjoyed my first handmade cosplay! My next cosplay gave me another challenge: I had to work with worbla! I started getting interested by making my cosplays by myself (that wasn't the case before), and I wanted to explore the materials I can use! So I started to work on it really hard, i didn't even had a heat gun, I used a dryer haha. But after working a lot, I've been able to complete my second cosplay: Hilda! After that, I kept buying and trying to make cosplays, but I never was satisfied, they were always finishing by being destroyed, but I kept progressing, I didn't give up! I even took sewing classes and it helped me a lot! In 2015, I started doing cosplays of better quality, they were not that awesome, but at least I wasn't afraid as much than before of getting them destroyed! More the time is going by, more I'm making my cosplays myself instead of buying them. I'm way more satisfied of my work than before! For summer 2016, I had a new challenge! I started being interested by EVA foam armors and cosplay makeups! I played Undertale and I fell in love with Undyne's design from the Genocide route! That's a big armor, and I needed to do a big makeup, that was perfect! I went to cheap shops to get EVA foam, paint, accessories and more! I worked on the armor really hard, I wanted it to look great, be at least a bit comfortable and easy to put on! And guess what, I nailed it! I sadly wasn't satisfied of my makeup the day i put it on in a con, but I still was proud for my first armor! And this is how I progressed in the world of cosplaying! Really recently (like last week), I finished my first cosplay, 100% handmade, that I'm realllllyyy satisfied of, I feel like I bought it, I don't even feel like that I made it! I took about a week to make it, and I am proud of it! I learned how to sew buttons and to make a fake tie! That cosplay is like a trophy for me haha! For me, the fun in cosplaying, is not of winning competitions or anything else, just being satisfied of my cosplays, is way enough! I hope to keep progressing, making cosplays of high quality like my latest one and to keep having fun! Cosplay is such a great passion, full of nice persons, this is an awesome hobby! And remember, you can cosplay, whatever your skills level, whatever if you buy it or not, as long that you enjoy it, you can cosplay! I hope you liked my little story! Maybe someday, that story will be way more longer ;) [BONUS] - My adventure in the Fazbear's crew(There's a loooottt of people that knows me only as Foxy, from the Fazbear's crew channel, and that probably wonder how I got in the crew; so keep reading haha :)
In summer 2015, Zally (A.k.a Freddy) talked about doing a Cosplay Music Video, but I never thought that was a serious thing, to be honest I first didn't really want to be part of it 'cause of my bad health at this time. But the day before the cosplay music video, Zally and I got a fight because I didn't want to come (Well I understand her reaction, she worked so hard for it, but I didn't know that was THAT important at this moment TuT) but I finally spent all my money on expensive clothes for the cosplay (Yea seems crazy but my foxy cosplay have been really expensive, just the shirt was almost 40$ TuT), and stayed up almost all the night to make the accessories, and when I woke up I was feeling really sick, but I still went to do it, but like I said, I didn't take it seriously. After the CMV, all the crew wanted to do more videos, but I was in a depression and it was too much for me, I never wanted to be part of a big youtube channel, so I left the crew, and that's why I've been absent in a lot of videos. Example, the day they did the cake competition video, I've been really sick, and I had to go to the grocery, and surprisingly I saw Chica and Freddy there (In cosplays, that was funny tho) but they saw that I was pretty tired, and told me to stay home and there's no problem. Few months passed by, and my health was getting better, and I wasn't depressed as much than before. I started reading through the comments, and I saw that a lot of people was asking for Foxy in the videos, and I realized how much my role is important in the crew, so I came back! And now I fully enjoy being part of the crew! Here's a lil' summary of my Otakuthon!
It wasn't the best con I've been to, to be honest! Friday: I was as Rin Kagamine from Luvoratoryyyyyy! I left home at 12pm and attended the con at 1pm, we had to do a line for about 1 or 3 hours TuT I sadly didnt have time to take any photo with my friend. But at least, I've bought awesome like a Monokuma plush! Saturday: I was as Link's Loftwing and Magical Kitty Len Len! This is probably my worst day of all the weekend ;w; I had to wait 2 or more like 3 hours in the hallway with the pink trees, for photoshoots! I organized the Zelda photoshoot but people came way too earlier or way too late, the photoshoot didnt really work... After that, I went to change as Len, anndd I left my phone in the washrooms anf forgot it there, and guess what, someone stole it bruh. TuT But the end of the day wasn't that bad, I saw a lot of friends and we danced! Sunday: I was as Teen Asriel! That day was reallly fun tho! I've been to the Panel Undertale Turnabout! It was so funny! I loved it! :D After that, we met a lot of nice people and we went to the Undertale photoshoot that I also organized, but this time it was a sucess! :D It was soooo fun! After we spent time with new friends to the Complexe Desjardins! My weekend wasn't the best, but still had a lot of fun! => About the next cosplay! Im actually working on a Junko Enoshima cosplay! Follow me on Instagram for more progress! Hey guysss! The 8 to 10 July, I was to the Montreal Comiccon! So here is a summary of my weekend there!
Friday: I wasn't supposed to be there, I had nobody to drive me to the Palais des Congrès, but the night before the con, my mom found someone to drive me there! And to surprised my friends, I didn't tell them that I would be there! I put on a new cosplay I did: Hatsune Miku, Cat Fod version! I think I've been alone for at least 4 or 5 hours, but I had the time to see around the dealers room and buy some stuff! When I was going out, I saw one of my friends running in my direction and jumped on me haha I surprised them! We had an amazing first day! Saturday: Finding a parking was horrible I was as Undyne and I almost regretted my choice! We were 4 levels underground, it was extremely hot! My dad let me to an elevator and left me to find a parking, I was waiting, holding my armor pieces, and almost fainted! I was so scared! After, we were probably 15 or 20 in the elevator, I really needed some air! Once I was really in the Convention center, I ran to the bathroom where my friends was putting on their cosplays! I was feeling dizzy and weird, but after one hour, I was feeling good! At least! I saw a lot friends that I didnt see for months! I was so happy! After few hours, I changed myself as Foxy (Fazbear's crew outfit)! Some persons even recognized us! We danced a lot on the roof like in every convention hehe XD Saturday: Calm but really funny day! I was as Len Kagamine, and my friend was as Rinnnn <3 We danced a lot again and did weird stuff haha! We did an amazing photoshoot too, thanks to my dad! (DAC photo Adventure) So thats all, AND BTW GUYS IM SO EXCITED FOR OTAKUTHON! ILL HAVE 2 NEW COSPLAYS TO SHOW YOU! <3 Hey guys! My Undyne the Undying cosplay is done!
Im so proud of it! I hope you guys will like it too! Heyyyy guysss! Like in the title, I finally did my first cosplay armor! Undyne the Undying from Undertale!
Hope youll like it! I still don't have good pictures of it, soon! Tbh, I think I've never had that much fun to a convention ;;;;w;;;; Zalevia, Emini-cat and I left at 7hpm to attend the con at 10hpm! I was as Yandere-Chan, and I found such a beautiful and accurate place for my Yandere-Chan pictures! Zalevia and I had a lot of fun exploring the underground tunnels of the Laval University!
Saturday, I was as Black Rock Shooter! My new cosplay! :D I was feeling shy in that cosplay, but I was also feeling badass with the long jacket XD I bought a beautiful skirt, two Undertale stickers and few green tea KitKat! At 4hpm, we took a break at home, we ate pizza and went back to the con in different cosplay! I attend the con as Sans for the evening! What a comfortable cosplay! Hehe! We went to the Undertale panel and that was amazing! So much Undertale cosplayers and fans was there and we had a great time! After, all the cosplayers of the panel and I went in the tunnels to do an Undertale cosplay video! I can't wait to see it! After we went back home! That was an amazing feeling to take off my makeup, that was suffering ;w;'' XD Sunday, I was as Len! That day was way more relax, but we took our time to talk more with the cosplayers we met the previous day! We took great pics too! After few hours, we got tired and that was time to go back home! We left at 4hpm, and I almost cried leaving the con XD ;w; That was one of my best weekends of my life! I wanted it to never end! Return to the normal life was way harder than I tought ;3; I can't wait for the next con! <3 ¡Hola amigos! (What? I wanted to start my post differently today XD... *ish out*)
